Franck Ribéry is UEFA’s Player of the Week

Franck Ribéry has been named UEFA’s Player of the Week for his standout performance in the Champions League in Bayern Munich’s 5-0 victory over Sporting. (And now poor Sporting has to go to Munich for the second leg. Ouch.)
Our Franck got two goals (one a penalty) and two assists in the game. [...]

France-Argentina Highlights

Thank goodness that was just a friendly.
Short Highlights:

First Half Highlights:

Second Half Highlights:

This lineup is fairly promising:
Anelka
Henry Gourcuff Ribery
Toulalan Diarra
Abidal Gallas Mexes Sagna
Mandanda
Domenech could do a lot worse, and often does. Evra has had some injury problems (ankle); he’d add a little more than Abidal down the left.

Viewing Options for France-Argentina, and BOUMSONG?!?!?

UPDATE: If you’re watching the game near your computer, leave comments here.

“Footing” with Les Bleus, and Dabo Called Up

From Jean Michel in the comments:

Jean Michel, you must be psychic! Guess who just got called up? Not as a replacement — as a “reinforcement.” Yes, Boumsong. [...]

France, Meet Argentina, OR: The New List! Same as the Old List! (Almost)

There are two items of news regarding the list for the Argentina friendly.
1) The FFF has redesigned their site so that the formatting carries over when I hit “copy”! So no more having to insert spaces and line breaks! Yay!
2) Other than a new goalkeeper, Cédric Carrasso from Toulouse, there is [...]

Sagnol Retires

This was one of those achy-breaky moments that we all knew was coming, right?
Willy Sagnol, who was stellar in les Bleus’ WC 2006 run, has retired. And not willingly. He’s leaving the game due to ongoing physical problems, especially an Achilles tendon that should have healed but never did. [...]
