The Dhorasoo Film (What Do You Mean There’s No Headbutt?)

Okay, three things I want to see in the Vikash Dhorasoo film, “The Substitute”:
1. Zidane’s Headbutt
2. Titi’s melon énorme
3. Domenech’s tarot cards.
4. Zidane’s Headbutt
Oh, wait, that’s four. But I think Zidane always merits a double mention.
So are any of these things actually in the movie, filmed by perennial [...]

That World Cup Lawsuit (Yeesh, Guys, Get Over It!!)

Martha and Bob have covered the details, so I’ll just say: C’mon, guys. Suck it up and work through your post-World-Cup grief the way I did:
With lots of French wine and a couple hundred Zidane YouTube videos.
Here. Let me help the process along.

Materazzi to France? Not a Good Idea

It seems that Marco Materazzi wants to come to France to promote his new book, “What I Really Said to Zidane.” Problem is, France has said that they are unable (and unwilling) to expend the effort and money which would be necessary to guarantee his safety.

The Last Little Tidbit of World Cup 2006 Coverage

World Cup 2006 is over. Finished. Done. So this will be my only post about the events of last July. But I was reading through old World Cup Blog posts and this Zidane quote was just too juicy to pass up:
“…there is nothing special happening around me concerning this being my [...]

We’ll meet again

Put the 6th September 2006 in your diary, it’s the day France host Italy in the qualifying round of Euro 2008.

So close

It wasn’t supposed to end this way. Zidane was meant to go out on another high, the hero, and after the first ten minutes it looked like it might turn like France dreamt it would.

Who will win?

The time for talking is almost up and in a few hours we’ll see who has what it takes to win a World Cup. Italy seem to be the slight favourites with the bookies and most of the football pundits I’ve heard.

Almost done

The end of the road is in sight for Zinedine Zidane and has any player signed off a fabulous career in such a way.

Will we see the real Henry?

France are in the World Cup Final against everybody but Domenech’s expectations, unbeaten in six games and we still haven’t seen the best of Thierry Henry.

Finale, Berlin

It wasn’t the prettiest game but Les Bleus got the job done without any of the main players picking up a ban for the final, now they can really go for it and send Zidane out on the highest of highs.
