Saivet is good friends with Mamadou Sakho (we can admit Sakho also has dual nationalities, though it's quite apparent he will be a Bleu someday), and it is likely that he will be teaming up with Obertan at Bordeaux eventually (keep in mind Saivet is only 17). He is also actually the youngest in Bordeaux's history to sign a professional contract, and he's been a mainstay of the French U-16/U-17/U-18 and now this season, U-19 teams. All this leads to suggest that, except if he does not pan out as expected, he will be a Bleu.

It's interesting that you, Michel-Olivier, think Saivet isn't much similar to Henry and is more similar to Eto'o. I admit there are differences between Saivet and Henry, though I think that when you consider the similarities in their ability to go and attack from the wings (Eto'o doesn't do that, really) and their free kick abilities (I don't know how Eto'o does at those), I think one can make a case.

I'm happy to be back and as always, enjoying the discussion, though Obertan to me is more similar to a Cristiano Ronaldo type than an Henry, though either way, he is definitely one of the more exciting guys that France has on the rise.

An interesting side note, did you know that Obertan was once on the books of PSG, as well as being trained at Clairefontaine, before he signed with Bordeaux?

I think it is fair to say that N'Gog could chose Cameroon. He was poorly treated in Paris by the supporters in the Parc des Princes, as they saw him as another overrated French U-19 international, though really, N'Gog has declined since he was very strong when he was U-17 international. And these days, even if one has been involved in the Clairefontaine setup a while, it doesn't mean that one will choose another country. Issiar Dia was a French U-21 international and was straight out of Clairefontaine, though due to competition at his spot (Ribéry/Gakpé/Obertan/Gouffran), decided to choose Senegal. I think the same thing then could now happen with N'Gog, though he could decide to choose France, based on his cousin, Boumsong, his close friendship with Gabriel Obertan, and if he does get opportunities at Liverpool.

David Ngog is half cameroonian half french. He grew up in France, his dad is cameroonian and his mom is french. The french squad is filled with stars, so i reckon he'll choose to play for cameroon alongside samuel eto. They could form a formidable partnership

Michel-Olivier, I could completely support everything you suggest except the Speedo. I think there should be a no-Speedo clause in his retirement contract.

Actually, there should be a no-Speedo clause in EVERYBODY's retirement contract. Or maybe in their LIFE contract. Break it, you die.

Michel-Olivier, the latest word on Thuram is that they're still waiting on the final test results. But my guess is that his playing days are probably over. Too bad, too. I'd love to see him do one final season at PSG with guys like Giuly and Makelele.

Interestingly, Thuram's name has come up for the spot at the Conseil fédéral that was vacated by Platini when Platini took over as head of UEFA. Escalettes says Thuram is interested. It would seem to be a great match.

Michel-Olivier - I'm having trouble figuring out what the N stands for. All I've gotten so far is that, "it's an African thing."
