2 Diarras in contention for start in central midfield

Lasanna Diarra started in France’s match against Lithuania on Saturday, and Alou Diarra played in the World Cup Final against Italy, when he came on for injured Patrick Vieira. Will they be paired together today?

Toulalan is suspended due to too many yellow cards.

France need the 3 points.

Doms and Henry have been asking the fans to be supportive, and patient for a late goal.

god i hope he wont field the two diarra’s together. that would be so boring to watch.

  • Benjamin

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
Not 2 Diarras! francefootball says is will be the same team as last time, except with A. Diarra instead of Toulalan. Domenech’s lineup is a joke

  • lefutur

    D’OH!

  • http://france.worldcupblog.org laurie

Excellent idea to hand out the flags for free.

  • http://france.worldcupblog.org laurie

And the name Pilibaitis sounds like a communicable disease.

  • lefutur

I cant believe Luyindula is starting again too. Is Nasri in the doghouse or something? WTF?

  • jeanpierre

    hahahhahaha

    this is so domenechical
wish we were not france fans so it wud be hilarious

  • http://france.worldcupblog.org laurie

And Manu Petit points out the obvious: “All the Lithuanian players are in the box.”

  • http://france.worldcupblog.org laurie

It was good luck when I said it last time, so I’ll say it again:

This is the kind of game we tend to lose 1-0 because even though we dominate, we lose concentration on one counter.

  • http://france.worldcupblog.org laurie

Luyindula looks like Drogba with that headband

  • lefutur

im not watching the game but i’ll make these 3 assumptions:

    1) Henry has hardly touched the ball
    2) France have all the possession and doing virtually nothing with it
    3) Lithuania are happily just sitting back and absorbing the pressure

  • lefutur

Everyone knew Domenech would be afraid to field an offensive line-up against a team that doesnt even bring the ball out of their own half.

    The man is without testicles.

  • http://france.worldcupblog.org laurie

I hope Gignac comes in soon.

  • http://france.worldcupblog.org laurie

Lefutur, are you SURE you’re not watching the match? :-)

    sigh

  • http://france.worldcupblog.org laurie

French players are getting physically muscled off the ball a lot. I’ll say one thing, Lithuania really knows how to defend.

  • http://france.worldcupblog.org laurie

    Gourcuff off, Benzema on

  • http://france.worldcupblog.org laurie

Also, I’m finding Manu Petit hysterical. He is getting so annoyed and agitated. “Put it on the ground! Put it ON THE GROUND!”

  • http://france.worldcupblog.org laurie

    Ribery again!!!!!

  • http://france.worldcupblog.org laurie

    Ribery again!!!!!

  • http://france.worldcupblog.org laurie

This is me, loving Gignac. And I have no idea why that posted twice.

  • http://france.worldcupblog.org laurie

Gignac has changed the entire composition of the game.

  • Eric Escander

We need more of Gignac! He needs to be apart of this team.

  • http://france.worldcupblog.org laurie

Whew. Gignac is my newest most favorite player. His role in that goal was art.

But it would sure be nice to win a game by more than one goal. Especially one where the team is as dominant as in this one.

  • Gaston

i knew there was something special about gignac, when a player says he is inspired by ruudi van nistior (if u know how he plays) then you are in for a suprise
