A and A’ List for Slovakia-France
How much do I love having both an A and an A’ team called up at the same time? (And can somebody French tell me how you say A’ en français?)
Absolutely the best part of having an A’ team is that everybody you want to see called up IS called up! The Juventus exiles? Trezeguet, Zebina, Boumsong? All there. Evra? Mexes? Back again. And not just Clerc at rightback, but Reveillere as well.
Although…wait a second… Where the heck is Julien Escudé? Is he injured? Or did he hit on Estelle? He turns 29 tomorrow. Not much of a birthday present. (Interestingly, he shares a birthday with Thierry Henry. ) Oh, and where’s Bodmer? What’s up with that?
This is also my opportunity to see what I’ve missed in the transfer window. Yes, I suppose I have the vaguest of memories of Bakary Sagna going to Arsenal, but it had slipped my mind. And I thought Rio Antonia Mavuba had gone to Italy, not Villareal in Spain… I guess you really need to pay attention to these things.
Tune in soon, when the Sorting Hat will send the boys to their respective A and A’ teams.

How is everyone planning to watch this match? TV5 Monde isn’t playing it and I don’t think Setanta Broadband is either.

By the way, Laurie, A’ is “A prime” in French.

Funny, A prime was exactly what I was calling it in English.
I’ll check JumpTV to see if it’s offered — they usually offer all Euro qualifiers and friendlies, and the service has been reliable when I’ve tried it.

Okay, yes, the A game seems to be offered at JumpTV. Click on this link and see if it works.

It works! So, it’s a free service? Thanks a lot, Laurie! I was afraid I was going to miss it!

Laurie, Sagna has been fantastic for Arsenal. In his pre-season and first two games of the season, we gooners have gone over the moon over this blonde-dyed wonder. In the CL first leg game against Sparta Prague he was subjected to a brutal tackle on his ankle but then he made a fantastic run and assisted in our 2nd goal. And Clichy remains one of our best–he’s also hugely popular among gooners. I’m torn between wanting to see him on the France NT and being afraid he’ll come back to Arsenal injured.

France is going to win aganist Slovakia 4-0 for France.Dont wast your time watching it.

Well in 2005, France lost 1-2 to Slovakia in France. Still can’t figure that one out. Must’ve been Barthez… And Laurie, if you want to see Trezeguet-Anelka and it still doesn’t happen next week, you could try hunting down the 2005 Slovakia match. Trez and Anelka were parterned for the first half. They didn’t manage to score, but from what I’ve read they at least tried to work together (which is more than Trez-Henry can say).
