Allow Me to Introduce Myself

October 26th, 2006 | By: Laurie | 13 Comments »

For my first second act as World Cup Blog blogger for Les Bleus, the National Team of France, I would like to officially appoint myself their Unofficial American Team Mom. I think I can do this, because as far as I know the position is unfilled. And if it is filled… Well, there’s no reason I can’t be just as unofficial as anybody else.

I believe I was chosen to write this blog based on three qualifications:

1. I love Les Bleus
2. I can read French passably, and
3. Nobody else was interested.

I think it was #3 that tipped the scales in my favor.

Truly, though, I have to believe that if it weren’t for the language barrier, the rest of the world would adore my beloved Bleus as much as I do. I am tired of seeing guys like Beckham and Rooney get all the press when I am absolutely certain that there are French players who are equally or more talented, photogenic, and capable of interesting behavior both on- and off-field. It is my goal to keep your minds filled with news about these players.

Euro 2008 awaits. Life is good. Allez Les Bleus!

Please allow me to introduce myself

I’m a man of wealth and taste

I’ve been around for a long, long year

Stole many a man’s soul and faith

I was ’round when Jesus Christ

Had his moment of doubt and pain

Made damn sure that Pilate

Washed his hands and sealed his fate

Pleased to meet you

Hope you guess my name

But what’s puzzling you

Is the nature of my game…

Oh YEAHHH… euh sorry Bienvennue….

Yo Marco, give us a break, your lousy biased comments are not welcomed… France has huge history and contributions to this world and so has Italy, don’t come on here to diss the country and their great team. And Platini and Napoeon were FRENCH, of Italian ancestors maybe yet French with a french education and a profound French identity… France is a melting pot, I bet u can understand that since u r posting from Australia, get an education mate.

Europe its funny beacause your posting from China extremely hypocritical dont u think. In Australian we have a different and diverse education where we celebrate and express ourselves as not only Australians but as our cultural background if we have Italians parents we are Italian i happen to be a native italain that was born in Italy. And even if i wasnt i like which team i want to like it just so happens that Italy are one of the greatest teams and are current world champions. Marcos right why dont all of the french stop critising Italians if u cant take our critism dont critise us ps sorry ur hero disgraced himself and ur all defending it lol it still makes me laugh

Hey Lucy, you are out of topic, I was just referring to Marco s lousy racist comments, as for critisizing the Italian team, read my comments twice before posting garbage cause I never did so and I do not recall anyone dissing the Italian team on this particular blog on the other hand I could read Marco s comments dissing the French team, it s just silly and clueless people like u who happen to be passing by the world cup blog cant help to post that French fans keep whining about the final which is completely false, maybe you should come over Paris and figure out by urself… Also look up for the definition of hypocritical… And do not compare Australia to Europe, ther is nothing such as Australian culture, at least nothing comparable to strong culture and identity such as in Italy and France… That is why people like Platini, Zidane, myself and many others with foreign ancestors claim to be French. Hai capito? Hey but I have an idea, for the benefit of us all, stay in Australia… lol
