Anelka and Gourcuff

September 11th, 2008 | By: jeff | 13 Comments »

Having a look around the French press today, these two are getting the rave reviews. Lots of headlines about Anelka changing the game when he came on and Gourcuff having a great game on his full debut.

Not as much ink for Henry and his sublime opener, but he’s had his share over the years, what with being France’s all-time leading scorer.

I really liked this picture of Anelka and Gourcuff from right after Anelka’s goal that Gourcuff set up.

@ outa control
i did not write anything about nationality, ethnicity, religion or anything discriminatory. all i wrote is i don’t like anelka style play and his not a player you can count on like many other players. i criticize lots of players i don’t like Ex. beckham, riquelme, totti, diara, raul, ooijer, adu, sobis, metzelder… and anelka is one of them.
i’m a big big fan of sagna one of the best right back in the world but his hair, i had the same problem with ronaldo in 2002 and Margas(the chilean player) in 98.

i write in every blog from france to turkey but i support the dutch nt.

@michel
Am not sure if anyone ever told you, but you have problems, you are so negative you are incapable of responding to a line and half without blowing things out of proportion.Ethnicity and religion?????i could care less my friend. Unlike you,i dont have have time to read or write on every blog, i like the french team, there was no way i could have known that you jump from site to site to spread hate and negativity, trust me i would have never asked any questions it was a complete was of time.

Gourcuff is cool
Henry is cool
Toulalan is cool

France has a lottt of great midfielders now! I want Nasri, Gourcuff,(the 2 new “zidanes”) Toulalan and Ribéry to have a fixed basic place in the team as midfield forever. if ribery and nasri werent injured, gourcuff wud be still on the bench yesterday. and if ribery wasnt injured either, nasri was also on the bench in the match against austria

And Flamini govou and 2 diarras on the bench, but i want to see how flamini plays 1 time

bigheaded benzema didnt have great game, but i still prefer henry-benz over henry-anelka

@ryan - yes they are broadcast live on TF1 (how i wish i had that channel)

@michel oliver- wanna switch? i live in holland and i f*kin hàte the dutch NT. and ur in france and u hate the nt français which i adore

I’M WITH YOU BENJAMIN! Though I can’t be that optimistic. Afterall, Bordeaux didn’t even pull a win over lowly Marseille.

I am so nervous about the game. Not too happy about Placente’s performance and I do not think Henrique will be fit. I hope Blanc isn’t planning to play Gouffran as well..he’s had too many games to prove himself and he just did not.

I wonder whether Nasri and Gourcuff will have a fixed, own position in the squad now. And Govou and Diarra can sit on the bench.

Actually I know the answer is no

Vieira is back

I wonder whether Domenech will give one of the midfield positions to him
I think Domenech will call up this quite boring midfield for Rumania:
Govou-Toulalan-Vieira-Diarra

I want:
Ribery-Toulalan-Nasri-Gourcuff

JP- Id prefer to see a diamond with
—- toulalan
ribery——nasri
—-gourcuff
lets face it, viera will always be injured, although ive heard hes been playing for inter lately

Bordeaux just got destroyed…at least malouda and nico scored, thats somehting abit postitive.
i have a feeling nico is going to have a great season…
Marseille’’s game was extremely entertainig to watch, and i feel they still have a shot if they keep creating those chances. their defense SUKSSS tho

ben thats also a nice thing, with gourcuff really attacking
but I dont think domenech would agree with us

and it seems like all french defenses are sucking at the moment
