Thanks for that translation, Doume. At first I when I read the comments, I was just as curious about the incident as I was about Dunne making his comments.

There was a lot of emotion yesterday, and there was a hint that there might be a post-match brawl, perhaps involving Dunne and Henry.

What’s really funny in that whole press thing that was blown out of proportion, is that it was a bad translation of Domenech’s words, when he said “c’est l’Angleterre bis”; BIS means like an exact replica (in French we also use it as “encore”), of course whatever foreign press translated it as B, meaning the bench team. It was great for firing up the whole Irish nation (who showed up a little overcomfident too, he he).
It is not unlike the fake fabricated quote “from” French swimmer Alain Raymond that was repeated ad nauseam to motivate Phelps and the US team (we will break the US 4×100 team like a stick).

I think fans are in a win-win situation. If France win then they make it to the World Cup. If they lose then they get rid of Domenech. Unless France does something extraordinary at the world Cup I don’t see any reason why he would stay.

I am worried about the match, but the more I think of it the more I have some cautious optimism. Even with Domenech at the helm and getting booed…I do think the Dunn’s comments are reflective of how many France supporters feel. It will be interesting to see if he finds another way to pull the rabbit out of the hat…I am starting to think he will –
