Clerc, Mexes, Diarra, Mavuba, Diaby, Nasri, and a substitution and first cap for Karim Benzema, who scored his first goal for France. (Hard to remember when Karim was an unproven quantity, isn’t it?) Laurie, apparently Anelka has changed his life around. He’s converted to Islam and has changed his relationship with his brother (who was always a bad influence). I read a piece on the Guardian sports blog site describing the new Anelka and how well he gets along with everyone at Bolton.

Samir Nasri is one talented number 10 with a bright future if he keeps working hard. France is known for its quality training centers that can yield brillant footballers, no worries for the future, yet the question is after Platini and Zidane who’s next?
