France-Argentina Highlights

Thank goodness that was just a friendly.

Short Highlights:

First Half Highlights:

Second Half Highlights:

This lineup is fairly promising:
Anelka
Henry Gourcuff Ribery
Toulalan Diarra
Abidal Gallas Mexes Sagna
Mandanda

Domenech could do a lot worse, and often does. Evra has had some injury problems (ankle); he’d add a little more than Abidal down the left.

A loss at home is frustrating, and allowing Messi to run riot was disappointing, but the upcoming world cup qualifiers are all that really matters, and looking at that lineup, I think most of the pieces are there to qualify.

in: gignac, sakho, capoue, chalme, hoarau, clement, frey and feghouli
out: flamini, fanni, anelka, a. diarra, mandanda, gallas, sagna, Dabo, briand and boumsong

that is what i like to see after raymond fail to qualify for wc2010

  • Gaston

flamini hasn’t even been a chance to play for france

anyway i agree about putting new blood in the team, but your have to be cautious, the transition has to be smooth one. you don’t want all these newbeez without guidance or someone with experience boost to their morale on the pitch when facing menacing teams. Ray should have been doing this ever since the world cup. but only does because of pressure of failure not as long term effect

Don’t worry French Supporter. Frence Team will Overcome. We are preparing for 2010 world cup. Our Team is Good Side. We lost to Argentina but we will qualify and We will win the 2010 world cup. Plz Remember 2006 and 1998 world cup. two time French Team was showing good result. But what was the condition of France team in 1997 and 2005. Both time (97, 05) France team was Out of Title race for world cup. But both Time France Reached The World cup Final.Plz Remember 2001 France was best team but what happend in 2002.So dont worry. Problem is Latins team that Their good showing is finished before the world cup(Now days Brazil and Argentina). I dont think Any Latins team can win 2010 world cup. European And African Teams will More Chance than Brazil And Argentina.
France Has a good site. Only we need a Solid Commanding Goal Keeper. Thats all.We have Good Groucho(Mini Zidan)Toulalan(Like Deshchamp)Nasari(Like Pires)Diara(Like Mackalele)Benzama(Like Papin),Just we need Solid defender’s Like Blanc and Desaily and A BARTHEZ….Dont worry French Supporter…

  • jeanpierre

the line up is promising but i would put out anelka because i think so and mandanda because he is a barthez but than more scary. i think i would put in benzema and lloris

apart from that its very promising, and if they play like the first half hour it would be great. a bit more teamspirit. We have already enough newbies like benz and nasri and the keeper etc, we dont need more newbies.

the team is quite perfect, now time to focus on the performances. i dont see why everyone always want to add more than 3 new players to this current squad because i dont see much wrong with it. always when we lose everyone says: “if you put this player in we would have won” and “let domenech sack”. I agree with “let domenech sack” but they don’t so gotta accept it now unfortunately chums

  • Terry from florida

THIS COULD BE A BAD ASS TEAM

    Frey

    Fanny,Gallas,Abidal,Evra

    Vierra,Diarra

    Ribery,Gorcuff,Nasri

    Henry

    what do you guys think?

  • Michel-Olivier

    @Terry
    it’s horrible

    ———-frey———-
    clerc–sakho—mexes–clichy
    ———toulalan——–
    ribery—gourcuff—nasri
    —-benzema–gignac—-
    that’s a team

  • http://france.worldcupblog.org/euro-2008/france-argentina-highlights.html philippe

jeanpierre that is exactly what i thought Hugo lloris and benzema instead of mandanda and Anelka.

Plus France need thier fans and they wont get them untill Domenech leaves.
No matter how good a team looks its hard to play good when your fans betray you.

Oh and nasri and menez maybe as subs would be good too.

I think in the end the problem lies at the top, until the FFF realizes that Domenech is not the proper person to lead the team we will be having these discussions over and over. I agree Les Bleus needs to figure out the keeper position, unfortunately that person is playing for Fiorentina, but Domenech has made sure that option is no longer viable. Although thinking back to Barthez in Germany 2006 makes me cringe, he was awful.

    I would play:

    Lloris

    Sagna Mexes Gallas Abidal
    Toulalan
    Ribery Malouda
    Anelka Benzema Henry

  • Eric Escander

    Lloris
    Clerc/Sagana Mexes Gallas Evra
    Toulalan/Flamini
    Ribery Gourcuff Nasri
    Benzema Henry
I would be happy with this squad.

Just wondering if there has been anything mentioned in France about Sebastian Bassong in relation to the French national team?

He is probably the best young defender in the english premiership and one of ht best overall. The guy is absolutely amazing. When I see Gallas and Boumsong in your squad and then watch Bassong play I am gobsmacked, but I suppose you have Domenech as coach. He is a complete idiot.
