France Foto: Like Father, Like Son

Raymond Domenech with his new chouchou protege, Bafé Gomis.

I get the feeling we’re going to be seeing a lot of versions of this photo over the next couple of years. Assuming France makes it through the group stage and Domenech keeps his job.

Although Gomis just signed a new contract for St. Etienne. And since Raymond was once quoted as saying (about St. Etienne), ““I dream about having my lawn painted red and blue so I’ll no longer have to see green first thing in the morning”…

Bafé ? Better keep scoring those goals.

This may be off-topic, but only getting out of the group stage isn’t good enough if Ray wants to keep his job. I think the semis are a requirement. If he doesn’t make it, I expect Aulas to give him a call. And I expect Philippe Mexès to triple his caps before WC 2010 begins if Domenech is out.
