Injury Updates: Saha, Mexes, Anelka, Trezeguet?
A few injury updates as we head towards next week’s game.
First, Louis Saha IS out with a knee injury, which explains why he’s not on the list.
And in case anyone was paying attention, yes, I did actually list our Louis as playing for Chelsea for a few hours yesterday. Which must have come as a surprise to Louis and everybody at Manchester United, as well as everybody at Chelsea. All fixed now. See, what happened was, I was writing before my morning coffee. And I remember my players’ clubs by picturing them in their club jerseys. And I SO saw Louis in blue. It took me several hours (and a venti latte) to realize, “Saha. In blue. Couldn’t be because he’s, like, FRENCH, could it?” Oops. My bad. Won’t happen again.
But back to it. The truly pretty Philippe Mexès may have picked up an injury this week. If true, well, déjà vu. I have no details, just a few words in one article, but I’ll keep looking.
And what the heck is up with my favorite bad boy, Nicolas Anelka? I got about six different links yesterday with words like, “injury” and “hobbled off the field,” but no details. I finally found one that said, “calf injury,” but no word on how bad and what this means for next week. I’ll keep searching. (This would be heartbreaking. Here Anelka and Trez are called up together, and I think I’m going to get my Christmas present, and… Well, damn.)
And speaking of David Trézéguet. PLEASE tell me he’s not injured too. The only reason I think he might be is that he showed up in a French article where he’s listed with Mexès and Anelka. Nothing else. And the ultimate source for all things Trézéguet, david.trezeguet.over-blog.com, isn’t showing anything. So it was a mistake, right? RIGHT?
Okay, this is me, being officially DONE with reporting injuries. No more for at least a week. None. Are you listening, guys?
