On the Paraguay Friendly

The result from Toulouse was a 0-0 draw. I started reading Laurie’s post-match thoughts, but stopped before I got into it, so my reflections wouldn’t be influence by what she, Inara, or the other commenters wrote. I’ve read little to nothing about the game.

I thought Benzema looked promising. I have big hopes for the player, and I saw little to dampen my enthusiasm.

And then Ribery. He also looks dangerous, but Benzema looks more like the player with the broad shoulders to carry the team to glory.

Henry looked ok.

Tolulalan got a chance, but did he do enough to put everyone’s doubts to rest?

Clerc looked good. Evra was ok (better than Abidal, no question). Boumsong. Well that’s not the player I’d expect to see in the first 11 in an official match. I’m more comfortable with Squillaci.

Malouda is still a bit of a weak link for me. France would be better with a player like Clichy in there – someone with pace.

And Maks did a job.
