Last Month the Thighs, This Month the Feet
Last month it seemed like all of our French guys had thigh injuries. This month, though, seems to be the Time of the Feet.
Striker Thierry Henry, midfielder Franck Ribéry and late France-Argentina call-up Mathieu Flamini are currently out with foot injuries. Franck is out with a small fracture in the metatarsal of his left foot and will be sidelined at least three weeks. Or, according to one source, a month. Which would obviously make his return after France-Lithuania on March 24.
Henry is out with an undefined foot injury. No word on when he’ll be back in action. And I also don’t have any word on Flamini, aside from multiple articles that say, “Flamini (foot).” Will they recover in time? Who the heck knows?
And striker Louis Saha seems to have taken a few knocks to the calf this week, but he’s saying he’ll be back by the weekend. Go, Louis. (Louis has activated the maternal place in my heart by saying he’s worried about not being flashy enough to be selected, so now I’m totally rooting for him not just to be called up, but also to start. Particularly since he seems to be one of our few strikers who has actually scored recently.)
But anyhow. Here’s hoping that our guys are fit and healthy before the 24th!

Hi Laurie
Love your blog. Not sure what is the best way to let you know about this but here’s an article about Lilian Thuram which you might find interesting.

Rach, The comments are a perfect place to post links — I check them at least a couple of times a day.
LOVE Thuram — I’ve been thinking about a post about his political activities but was too lazy to translate from the French articles. So this is perfect. I’ll probably write it up and post tomorrow. Thanks!

You’re welcome Laurie. It’s been fun reading your blogs, I’m really glad to find an English language site about Les Bleus!
If you don’t mind I might occasionally post bits and pieces that I’ve found in the comments section for your consideration :).
Btw, should I register or something to post comments? I’m not very familiar with how this blog works. Right now I need to type in my email every time I post a comment.

I’d love to see anything you think might be interesting about the team and players.
There’s no registration needed for the site. I’ve found that it will save my info on pages I post to regularly, but I still have to type in my own info at least once or twice a week. Yes, even on my own page.
It’s become so automatic I don’t even notice.
