Malouda Finally Scores for Chelsea

I was in the middle of writing an email to Daryl, the editor at World Cup Blog and The Offside, where I was saying, “Chelsea. With the exception of Makelele, it’s where good French players go to get all the life sucked out of them.”

And as I was typing this (with the Newcastle-Chelsea game playing on Setanta in the background), Florent Malouda goes and makes a liar out of me with this goal.

Go, Florent! Let this be one of many in the next few months.

And send some of that spark to Nicolas Anelka while you’re at it.
