More on Trezeguet

November 13th, 2006 | By: Laurie | 5 Comments »

I am quite hopeful. Reader Thierry brought it to my attention that David Trezeguet has been out recently with an injury. (The only thing I can find talks about an undefined “muscular problem.” This was dated last week. So who knows?) But I guess if there’s a physical reason, he may still have a future with Les Bleus. (?) Sometime today or tomorrow I’m off to Juventus sites to see if I can find anything else.

How could I have missed this? It’s at times like this that I regret that I have a real, actual life which prevents me from googling Bleus news 24/7. As I have said before, I love Trezeguet. (Although as Unofficial Team Mom I love all of mes Bleus equally, I was having a hard time seeing Anelka picked over Trez.)

In my defense, though, I have been spending time researching other truly important stuff. Two examples: I have found a great site with pictures of all team members for the France-Greece game. The site is in French, but pictures are a universal language. (Is it just me, or is Coupet looking kind of scary crazy these days?)

Also, I spent a whole bunch of time last week on French websites trying unsuccessfully to run down the “Zidane potential future love child” rumor. (Hey, folks, I have my priorities! I am thinking only of you, dear reader.)

P.S. Headbutt. Alleged affair. Alleged potential future love child. Whatever. I still love Zidane.

And why am I sitting here imagining this list getting longer and longer and longer as the years go by?

(Zizou. Sweetheart. Two words: Impulse. Control.)

Another injury to Trez? The stars (shut up, Domenech) are not on his side… If Anelka is the Anelka I remember from that Faroe Island game and oh um…geez, old Euro 2000 tapes (I know, I know. I need to let France 98 go), then no sweat. He has experience. The one thing France always boasts about their squad. /end my useless analysis.

I’m looking forward to that friendly/re-union. Zinedine Zidane will confess to killing pandas and wearing the white bits for a sweater. No lie. :D

O! Rapture! Two France fans responding to one post! I was beginning to think I’d died and gone to hell and my punishment was to spend eternity coming up with mildly creative and humorous posts to be read only by surly Argentina and Italy fans.

Okay, so maybe I shouldn’t have called Argentina a slut in a tight sweater. Still. Welcome. Come back. Bring friends. :-)
