Our France Blog Has the Midas Touch

May 29th, 2008 | By: Laurie | 4 Comments »

Before the Ecuador friendly, before the final squad list, there was France Euro 2008 blogger Jeff.

Jeff wrote up a profile on shock call-up Bafetimbi Gomis. Gomis had an amazing debut, scored two goals and made the team.

And Jeff also wrote up a profile on goalkeeper Steve Mandanda. Mandanda kept a clean sheet for the half he played, his first game ever for the full France team. And he also unexpectedly made the squad.

Two players turning to gold after Jeff wrote about them. Coincidence? I think not.

If you are a French player looking to have stellar games while catching the attention of coach Raymond Domenech?

We can be bought.

I’m a dual French-American citizen and at 37 years still within Domenech’s window of ideal player age. You can do a right up on me, get me called up, and then mention me in the controversial dual citizen blog. After I miss the decisive penalty for France having played a total of 5 minutes during the tournament you can rip me a new one.

Jeff, your job from now to the tournament is to write profiles on any player who might take them.

Les Bleus are counting on you!
