Willy Sagnol’s Playing Again!
To cap off a great weekend, Willy Sagnol finished his first full ninety-minute game with the Bayern Munich reserves this weekend since his knee injury last season.
The 30-year-old, who has 51 caps for his country and played in last year’s World Cup final, injured his right knee in a Champions League match with AC Milan in April.
But he returned to training at the start of the month and on Friday turned out to play for Bayern’s reserve team.
Sagnol declared on Saturday: “My knee survived the test. After 90 minutes I wasn’t tired, that’s a good sign. I felt a lot better in the second half.”
Woohoo! Anybody else breathing a sigh of relief at the thought of a fit Willy Sagnol dominating that rightback position at the Euros? Congratulations on your recovery, Willy!!
