Zidane and Friends, Plus a Photo that Captures the Euro 2008 Experience

November 16th, 2008 | By: Laurie | 14 Comments »

For anybody interested, Zidane and Friends will meet Ronaldo and Friends in a charity match tomorrow, Monday, Nov. 17. Game to be played in Morocco. If you’re in the US, it will be broadcast on Fox Soccer Channel at 1:00 Eastern. If you’re not in the US, leave game-watching info in the comments.

Also, I was looking for something else and found this photo of a wall in the Romania game in Euros. It just seemed to sum up the whole Euro experience in one photo.

Boumsong has also been called up to replace Sagna and Diarra. Which is kind of funny because one is a RB and the other is a DM/RB, but Boumsong is a CB. I don’t get why Domenech doesn’t call up Reveillere, who is a better player than Fanni.

Hawk, yes, both will play, at least if it’s like previous years. Zidane and Ronaldo both set up teams and then they play against each other. And both will play, at least for awhile.

Zidane and Ronaldo are both playing, obviously. Marta is on Ronaldo’s bench. Coupet is starting for Zidane, and Karembeu is on the bench. I’ll write up a post after the game.

Ronaldo and Friends won the game 6-5. I loved watching Marta play against Zidane’s team, she was great.

It was a fun match to watch. Coupet apparently got the memo that this was a friendly and he should let all goals in. Dida didn’t.

Karembeu played about ten minutes, and wasn’t on to take the penalty, although he wanted to be. Zidane may be moving a little slower, but he hasn’t lost his moves.

A lot of fun.
