Almost done

The end of the road is in sight for Zinedine Zidane and has any player signed off a fabulous career in such a way.

Your last ever game the World Cup Final, what could be more Hollywood. To actually win it and score the winner I guess and that is not beyond Zidane.
When you look back on his career there are so many highs along with a few low periods towards the end. World Cup winner, European Championship winner, Champions League, Serie A, La Liga, he’s won the lot, always at the heart of his team leading the way.

In the way of great players Zidane has been concentrating on the team rather than himself, saying ‘people are always asking me about this World Cup being emotional or special because of my retirement, but there is nothing special happening around me concerning this being my last World Cup. I don’t want to be special, I don’t want to be talked about as a separate part from the group.’
Said like a true champion.

Colleagues and oppenents have been singing his praises too. ‘Watching Zizou play must make others feel they should stop, and it also makes you wish he would carry on’ said Patrick Vieira.
‘He is one of the players who is worth the price of the ticket to see’ said Italy midfielder Gennaro Gattuso.

Whatever happens in the final the career has been brillant, the highlights many and all the Italian players will be hoping to get his shirt.

It was a racial slur from materazzi about the french team that he kept repeating to zizou. Zizou didn’t say a word back, but had his own way of saying No To Racism.

Well done Zidane! I admire you even more now.

it doesn’t matter what was said…the bigger man will tolerate and punish where it hurts (on the scoreboard). unfortunately, he showed us all wrong. we all thought he was great. but he has disgraced himself, his country and football in general

There is no excuse what so ever. When I was a martial artist, I was explained that if I got involved in a brawl, I would get my licence and access to the Dojo withdrawn.
All footballer behaving like Zidane did should be banned without appeal. What kind of exemple do they give to the youth? There can’t be any excuse.
As a french I feel more ambarassed and ashame for that tham for loosing the game. In fact we deserve to loose the game for that reason. Being red carded ZZ didnot take part in the penatty shoot out.
Zizou abruti!
What pisses me is that despite this the all French press says that HE WAS WRIGHT! That he must have had a good reason for acting like that! Lip readers are analysing the tapes to find out what was said. This SHAME FULL.
THEIR IS NO EXCUSE TO VIOLENCE IN SPORT!
VIOLENT PEOPLE MUST BE EXCLUDED FROM PROFESSIONAL SPORT. THEY CAN ADRESS THEIR PROBLEM WITH A PSY.

I just heard (maybe our news is later than yours) That Zidane has been awarded the most popular/outstanding player of the semis finals, won by a huge majority.

I say Well Done Zidane.

It’s clear that the French have a superiority complex. For Zidane to have done what he did, he would have to believe he is invincible……….well, he’s not and he went down just like the team. They got a wake-up call, and I’m ecstatic that Italy was the one to deliver it!
Forza Italia!!!!!

Ok, you guys wanna know why zidane even head butted him, well if i was him i wouldnt stop at that, Materazzi said: “you play like your crippled son, you terrorist, go play for your own country”,

ok so ya and a comment on the goal keeper who people think is the best in the World CUp, well he isnt coz wenever the ball was shot in the peanlty shots, he would always go the other way, unlike barhtez who went the rite way at least 2wice. thank you, WE’LL MISS YOU ZIDANE, GO FRANCE!

Zidane did what he had to do…you rather lose and take no bs than to win… Zidane is more popular than any player in soccer history that alone is something to smile…who cares about some Italians with Cup won by cheating, faking, diving , and insulting other players.

Vive Les Blues- The warriors

Vive Zidane- THE BIGGEST LEGEND IN SOCCER.

JAY-Z I have to say that you have few ideas but well confused. So Zidane is the most popular soccer player of histoty. Most likley you are too young to remember. What about Maradona, Pele’, Beckenbauer, Cruijff, Platini, just to name someone. Rest in peace!!! World Cup is gone and the arroganze of french has been punished.

take a look at the diversity of where everyone comes from who praises Zidane - all over the world. Zidane isnt just a hero to the millions of French and Francophone people , he is a worldwide hero and an inspiration to a countless number of people. I cannot believe hes career has ended this way , it should never have done. Zidane should have been holding the World Cup that night and La France should have been celebrating another world cup win just like in 1998. Vive La France et Vive Zizou. materazzi is disgrace to football , i hope God gives justice to him and to all those who condone or reason what he did.
