Almost ready

Probably in an ok position going into this World Cup.

Most of the squad is healthy and their motivation should be high, the older ‘98 generation led by Zidane will want to finish their World Cup careers with a good run and the younger players like Ribery have a great chance to make name for themselves.

Looking at their possible route to the final I still think they can top group G and go into a second round game against the runner-up in group H, probably Spain or Ukraine, both beatable.
That would give France a quarterfinal with a team from group’s E and F, not easy but not impossible.

Checking out the latest odds the bookies, the people that really know, are still offering 12-1 for France to win the World Cup while making them heavy favourites to win their group.
Where the bookmakers think they’ll go out is the first knockout round.

It could all depend on how rigid Domenech is with his selections and style of play.

France has the quality to win the World Cup, but must take the focus off superstar club players and play as a team. Keeping clean sheets is most important and therefore emphasis must be on the defensive players and their form, rather than looking for baskets of goals from club superstars. Plenty of guys can score. This is one of the most attractive, speedy and creative teams, a good mix of youth and experience. Don’t underestimate them. They will win.
