Boumsong to move?

It’s been reported in France that Monaco may come in for Newcastle’s French international defender Jean-Alain Boumsong in the summer.

Boumsong’s a bit of an enigma to British fans. He signed for Newcastle in January 2005 for £8million from Glasgow Rangers after spending one season in the SPL but has never impressed anyone with his performances in the Premiership, and has been caught out a number of times this season for costly goals.

He always looks like a liability, maybe its playing in a team that’s generally not very good but he doesn’t seem to play with much confidence. That hasn’t stopped Raymond Domenech from continuing to pick him for France, maybe he thinks having Vieira and Makelele in front of him instead of Newcastle’s disorganized crew will take the pressure off Boumsong.
