Dishing the dirt

February 17th, 2006 | By: Chriso | 1 Comment »

Former French captain Didier Deschamps, who lifted the World Cup in 98, is planning to sue Jean-Jacques Eydelie, a former teammate at Marseille, over claims in Eydelie’s book that some Marseille players knew club officials had rigged a game back in the early 1990’s.

Coming on top of recent allegations of performance enhancing drug use by players at the club around the same time it brings to the surface again all the shenanigans that went on at Marseille under owner Bernard Tapie.

It’ll be interesting to see what else comes out if Deschamps takes it to court.

That was the all period of Marseille as the top of french football who was rotten, with the suspicion of lot of matches rigged. Not only that, but they are big presomptions than they were drugging opposite teams with spike water and orange juice. This both in the league as in european games, unbelievable !
But nothing will change now, as the affair as been judged and closed. The UEFA itself has said than they would not again open the case…too dangerous.
As for Eydelie, he is a poor gay who has been let down by all 13 years ago. Father of 5 chidrens and in a deep shit, he is trying to make some money out of that book, not very pretty but I don’t blame him, the maffia of Marseille of that time deserved to be spat on. I just feel sorry for the children of that gay who have to leave with the faults of their father and it’s really hard as a child !
Anyway, we would have rather forget all this in France, after all Marseille was the first team to bring a european cup home and to remind us than maybe that cup than we are so proud as been won in a dirty way doesn’t make us confortable.
