Everybody’s talking about him

June 10th, 2006 | By: Chriso | 14 Comments »

He’s no threat to the likes of David Beckham in the pretty boy footballer stakes but Franck Ribery’s French teammates have been singing his praise’s as a player.

With Zinedine Zidane on his lap of honour Ribery is the coming man and he’s been getting rave reviews for his few appearances off the bench in France’s warmup games.
Midfielder Claude Makelele says the squad ‘compare him to a dog being let off his leash’ and added ‘Frank is important because he can attack and provoke’.

Defender Eric Abidal says of Ribery ‘each time he’s played he’s brought freshness, vivacity and technique to the team. He creates chances. I think it’s great for the team, he pushes the side forward regardless of how many minutes he’s on the pitch.’
According to Thierry Henry ‘he’s a guy who has no fear, each time he gets the ball he wants to attack. For a defender it’s a nightmare.’

With such ringing endorsement’s you can see the squad putting pressure on Domenech to start Ribery if results don’t go according to plan.

Everybodys talking about him and so they should. France have always had a vast amount of young talent at their services and it seems that Frank Ribery is the next in line for ’superstadurm’ joining the likes of Zidane and Henry in recent years.

He seems to be a hard-working player who has really played well in the last couple of years for Marseille growing attention from the likes of Man Utd, Arsenal and Juventus – although im less certain of there intrest but both Arsene Wenger n Alex Ferguson for certain have shown an intrest.

He is a good passer of the ball and showed that with his performance the other night against China having a real impact when he came on. He is a player that in years to come will only get better and better so i hope that he really has a good tournament and that he can be one of the future stars of the game.

P.S. i think Louis Saha should start alongside Henry as Saha complements Henry well and i am not 100% convinced with Trezeguet at the moment although he does have a good scoring record at this level.

Magic is all over the World Cup 2006!
Because of some strangeness in game results – this site becomes more and more famous http://www.voodoo4football.com
Is it possible – that synchronous desire of a lot of fans concentrates and affects on the results of the football game?

The oh-so-dull game against the Swiss is done, 0-0, and frankly, Ribery sucked.

The oh-so-dull affair against Switzerland is done, 0-0, and Ribery was, to put it diplomatically, a disappointment…
