Feeling lucky

I’ve been having a look at the latest World Cup odds at PaddyPower bookmakers. They currently have France as 9-1 fifth favourites, which isn’t very generous for an aging team that hasn’t performed at its last two big tournaments.
No surprise Brazil are 5-2 favourites for the cup, England second at 6-1. You can get 100-1 USA, 300-1 Togo and 1000-1 Trindad. If I was going to bet the value is probably something like Holland at 12-1.

The topscorer betting is interesting, Thierry Henry is 12-1 third favourite behind Adriano and Ronaldo.
I don’t see France or Henry scoring that many goals in their group games and the bookies don’t rate the other French scorers to be up there, with Trezeguet 22-1, Cisse and Anelka 50-1, Zidane 66-1 and Wiltord 100-1.
Worth your money is Wayne Rooney at 14-1, I can see him banging in three or four golas in England’s group games.

France are odds-on 1-3 to win their group, leave that one alone.
