Friendly squad

February 23rd, 2006 | By: Chriso | No Comments »

The squad for next week’s friendly game against Slovakia has been announced. No major surprises, Lyon’s 22 year old defender Francois Clerc gets a call up and might get a game because William Gallas is in the squad but missed Chelsea’s game with Barcelona last night through injury.

Nicolas Anelka gets picked again and possibly another game to rebuild his international career. Not sure what the subs rule will be next week but I expect the majority of players to get on the pitch at some point.

The full squad is,
Goalkeepers: Fabien Barthez (Olympique Marseille), Gregory Coupet (Olympique Lyon)

Defenders: Eric Abidal (Olympique Lyon), Jean-Alain Boumsong (Newcastle), Francois Clerc (Olympique Lyon), William Gallas (Chelsea), Philippe Mexes (AS Roma), Willy Sagnol (Bayern Munich), Lilian Thuram (Juventus)

Midfielders: Vikash Dhorasoo (Paris St Germain), Alou Diarra (Racing Lens), Claude Makelele (Chelsea), Florent Malouda (Olympique Lyon), Patrick Vieira (Juventus), Zinedine Zidane (Real Madrid)

Forwards: Nicolas Anelka (Fenerbahce), Thierry Henry (Arsenal), Louis Saha (Manchester United), David Trezeguet (Juventus), Sylvain Wiltord (Olympique Lyon)
