Henry poised for Euro heroics?

We all know what happened in 2002 when France had a team full of attackers coming into the World Cup in blazing form. They had burned too brightly, and they had burned out. Zizou limped out of training injured, and the side imploded, unceremoniously.

Henry, a red-card villain of 2002, is coming in on a different theme this year. Despite scoring a consolation goal, Henry’s Barcelona were recently stuffed 4-1. Henry has often been injured this season and rarely gets a start for Barcelona; his club side that’s been comprehensively defeated in the league to Real Madrid and lost their Champions League semi-final tie to Manchester United.

He should come into Euro 2008 hungry.

In France, we are still confident about Henry for the Euro championship. He’s a proud person and we are sure he will score quickly…

Yaz, he does seem to be coming back into form at just the right time, with three goals in his last two games.

It might even be better for France that he’s started so rarely this year — perhaps it’s given his body time to heal.

the reason france did so poorly in 2002 is
not only cuz zizou was injured, but also because
the team itself was exausted. the schedule of that year resulted
in very late league and domestic cup matches, as well as
european competition matches. the same thing is happening
this year w the french cup in end of may, champions leauge
in end of may, italian cup in end of may, theres up to
18 french players affected by this. i have lost many hours of sleep
praying for our stars to be fit for the euro, and not be too tired
lke last world cup
