Looking for a good game

France are getting ready for their first pre-World Cup friendly against Mexico at the Stade de France tonight.

The team Domenech has chosen looks a pretty strong one on paper, Keeper Barthez, Defence Sagnol, Thuram , Gallas, Abidal, Midfield Zidane, Malouda, Makelele, Vieira, Forwards Trezeguet, Cisse.
I can imagine nine of these starting the first World Cup game against the Swiss with Cisse dropping out for Henry and maybe Malouda sitting on the bench for another midfielder.

Henry’s getting a rest from this game after playing in the Champions League Final but for the likes of Zidane and Thuram it’s their last chance to play in Stade de France for the national team so hopefully they’ll be up to give a good performance.

Raymond Domenech has said that any experimentation will come in tonight’s match and the one against Denmark but that the team that plays China on June 7 wil be the one that starts against Switzerland.
I think he’ll be safe and conservative with that selection and hope the old guard can produce one more time.

France deserved to win. If Henry was in the game they would probably score more.

Well yes Euler, but you also have to take into consideration that mexico did not use all of their star forwrds. For you to say that france would of scroed more goals, you have to say that mexico would have done also. I think it was a great game. france showed that they have a potent offense, their midfield play is great. They look good on defense, and sure maybe more offense, but it’s only a friendly. Mexico also looked good. For them it was more a defense test. Thei coach wanted to see what theycan do with a powerful team like france. all in all..
