Louis, Louis
Louis Saha has been praising Alex Ferguson in L’Equipe for sticking with him despite Saha spending the majority of his time since joining Manchester United on the injury list, and with most of those injuries being picked up while he was on international duty with France.
Saha’s been playing in England since 2000 when he came to Fulham from Metz, and was an outstanding goalscorer for Fulham before United picked him up two years ago.
The recurring injuries and competition at Man U have meant he’s only showed in flashes (like on sunday against Wolves) how good he can be.
He has a similar problem with the French team, being down the pecking order of the strikers, and even though he’ll be 28 this year has only had eight caps for France.
Personally I’d take Saha over the likes of Cisse, he’s very quick and strong, has a great touch and is a top quality finisher, and would be ideal coming off the bench with 20-30 minutes to go.
He says in his interview that the club is his priority over the national team right now, but if he can get a long run in the United side from here until May playing alongside Rooney and van Nistelrooy I’d make him a lock for a place in the French 23.
