Lucky escape

There’s an incredible story out today about Patrick Vieira and his wife being gassed while asleep in their villa near Cannes by a gang of robbers.

It happened the night before Patrick joined up with the national team for their training camp and the robbers had pumped gas into the buildings air conditioning system, then ransacked the place and got away in Patrick’s Mercedes.

They woke up with really bad headaches and the police’s forensic unit has confirmed gas was used. Vieira was examined by a doctor before getting the all clear to meet up with the French squad but it’s not exactly going to help his state of mind if he’s worrying about his wife while trying to prepare for Germany.
