Number crunching

Despite the booing some members of the French team got against Mexico the other night, most French fans are upbeat about the team’s chances according to a poll in L’Equipe.

51% think Les Bleus will get to the semifinals and 15% reckon they’ll go all the way and win the World Cup.
Surprisingly considering some of his squad selections, 68% of the polled fans said they have complete confidence in Raymond Domenech.

The team will be hoping that some of that optimism will translate into a better reception from the crowd in Lens tomorrow night when they play Denmark.
Patrick Vieira joined Thierry Henry in talking about the boo boys at recent France games saying ‘we are getting used to this sort of thing. It’s disappointing because they were against players who have done much for the French team.’

If they can get a few goals against the Danes the poll numbers might start to get even better.
