Odd man out?

February 3rd, 2006 | By: Chriso | 2 Comments »

French defender Mikael Silvestre says he turned down a move from Manchester United to Lyon in the transfer window to stay and fight for a place at Old Trafford.

I think he’s probably on borrowed time with United, he’s been there since 1999, played over 300 games for the club but hasn’t been playing that well for a long while.

The injured Gabriel Heinze is a much better left back and Alex Ferguson’s recruited Nemanja Vidic for the centre of defence and Patrice Evra for left back cover, so if all the squad was available Silvestre would be struggling to make the starting lineup.

Maybe having a really good World Cup will get him a last big move of his career if he doesn’t fancy going straight back to France.

Mickael Silvestre is a big liar,Lyon never made a move for a player who must have a fat salary at ManU and get worse by the years!
Lyon made a clever move as usual by taking back Patrick Mûller, the swiss international who won three titles with Lyon.He has been welcome back by all his partners who appreciate him very much.
And the crisis with ours defenders get deaper, with the injury yesterday of Monsorreau against Bordeaux in the french league.

We didn’t, we don’t and we won’t need Mr.Silvestre in Lyon!! He’s the kind of brainless guy who speaks a lot instead of playing football… As athenes65 said, we are very satisfied and glad with the unexpected come-back of Müller, a simply and good player!
Champion’s league, you are for us this year!!
