Paris in the spring
The Champions League Final is in Paris on May17 and UEFA are running the Champions Festival, five days of football related activities starting on the Saturday before the final.
According to UEFA’s website the event will be opened by ex-France captain Laurent Blanc at 10am on May 13 and run until 6.30pm on the 17th, and will take place opposite the Eiffel Tower.
UEFA say they’re creating a village dedicated to football and there’s also what they call the Starball Match, a 50 hour nonstop five-a-side game featuring around 500 players that kicksoff at 10am on May 14.
There is also a junior competition involving 128 teams of 10-16 year olds in a five-a-side tournament playing round-robin and knockout games.
The website says the Champions Festival is open to everyone and entrance is free.
