Stick at your job

Ludovic Giuly says he’s turned down moves to France and Turkey in this transfer window to stay and fight for a place at Barcelona.

The French midfielder wasn’t seeing eye to eye with Barca coach Frank Rijkaard but after clear the air talks has decided to hang in there at the Nou Camp.

It’s the right move. Guily’s a great little player, who links well down the right side of Barcelona’s midfield and with the club fighting for the La Liga title and the Champions League he’ll get his games to prove to Raymond Domenech he’s worth recalling to the national team after missing the last two friendlies against Germany and Costa Rica.

Changing leagues, clubs and teammates this close to a major tournament is not going to help you impress your country’s head coach.
