The captain’s upbeat

Zinedine Zidane has been talking up France’s chances in the World Cup ahead of Wednesday’s friendly with Slovakia.
He’s told L’Equipe that France are going to Germany to win and that ‘if we are at 150 percent on D-Day, I don’t see which country could trouble us apart from Brazil’. Pretty confident stuff and he should know about the strengths of Brazil, playing with four of their players at Real.
Zidane also says he’s happy with his own form after coming off an injury at the start of the season and on coming out of international retirement ‘I did not come back to play the clown’. Well he might play for the Real Madrid circus but I doubt anyone thinks he’s a clown.
