The Last Little Tidbit of World Cup 2006 Coverage

October 26th, 2006 | By: Laurie | 2 Comments »

World Cup 2006 is over. Finished. Done. So this will be my only post about the events of last July. But I was reading through old World Cup Blog posts and this Zidane quote was just too juicy to pass up:

“…there is nothing special happening around me concerning this being my last World Cup. I don’t want to be special, I don’t want to be talked about as a separate part from the group.”

Well, then.

We really mucked that one up royally, now, didn’t we?

(P.S. I still love Zidane.)

And now: Forward! Onward! Upward! Euro 2008 awaits.

Hang on a sec, what do you mean we mucked it up??????

ZIDANE STUFED HIM SELF UP .. he was to old, couldnt take the pressure, he knew nothing but victory was failure and so he justsnapped, especailly when he did that header and buffon saved it, that would have killed him inside, knowing the only way that france could score againts Italy was if Henry dived and get a penalty which wasnt … thats why you need young strikers and youngish midfilders, as they have more guts and can take more pressure

Settle down there, Marco! She didn’t mean that literally.

It’s a joke played off of Zidane’s statement that he didn’t want to be singled out during the world cup.
