Transfer grapevine

Transfer gossip around two of France’s possible World Cup squad today.
Arsenal’s Robert Pires has admitted he’s been offered a two year contract by last night’s opponents Villareal.
He’s out of contract this summer and Arsene Wenger is playing hardball by only offering him a one year deal.
Pires has said in an ideal world he wants to stay at Arsenal but only with the security of a two year contract. He told a Spanish paper he was concentrating on helping Arsenal reach the Champions League final but ‘after that, if I have to talk to the people from Villarreal, I will.’
I think Wenger’s a genius but Pires is Henry’s mate and keeping him on board might help Thierry decide to stay, plus Pires has a great record with goals and assists since coming to Highbury.
Pires also has to hope Domenech buries the hatchet and takes him to Germany.
The AC Milan recruiters are eyeing up William Gallas aware he only has a year left on his Chelsea deal.
Their vice-president Adriano Galliani said Gallas would welcome in Milan and told Gazzetta dello Sport, ‘all I can say is we like French players because they are able to adapt better to our football than the rest of the Europeans.’
Although to my memory Juventus have had a lot more French players than Milan.

Chriso,
In your opinion, who are the first 11 that France should start with against Switzerland in the World Cup (giving no injuries etc)?
Thanks.

I’d probably go with
Coupet
Sagnol
Thuram
Gallas
Givet
Makelele
Vieira
Zidane
Henry
Trezeguet
Saha

WowWW! With 3 strikers!!
I almost fully agree with you except for Givet who I must admit I do not know that much his performances. Instead I was thinking of Silvestre.
