L’Equipe is reporting that France ‘98 hero is going to be the next coach of Ligue 1 side Toulouse.
Toulouse are having an ordinary season having only won 9 out 34 games and losing 15, and they’ve only scored 29 goals in all their league games so there’s a lot of work for a new coach to do.
Despite taking Toulouse from the third division to Ligue 1 previous coach Erick Mombaerts got the bullet because he couldn’t get them into Europe. Sounds like a very demanding chairman to work for.
Since retiring from playing in 2003 Laurent Blanc has been taking his coaching exams and acting as an adviser to companies on how to manage people.
It’ll be interesting to see how he does runnning a team.
