I just re-read my comment from a couple days ago: “braking up play”? Is that a Freudian slip?

Makalele has been playing really well for Chelsea. He was Chelsea’s best player in the 0-0 draw against Liverpool a week or so ago, and he was the captain for Chelsea in the Champions League against Olympiacos, and again looked like he’s on top of his game, in another 0-0 draw.

Now that I’ve written that, and my evidence that he’s playing well is based on a couple games in which his team didn’t score, I can see that, on the face of it, it doesn’t look too convincing. But, you all know that Makalele plays in the Makalele role, and that means braking up play and 4-yard passes, not creating or scoring goals.

Marco, you made me laugh. The thought of a francophone Italian blogger still amuses me hugely.

If I’m remembering and reading things correctly, Ricardo Faty has never been called up for France. His brother Jacques has been called up as a youth international, but never as a senior.
