Laurie,
Yes, he has a very heavy Northern accent, for sure. And he mumbles too! Plus he used a lot of slang(at 4.15, he says "I have my head in my a** this morning!")
And yes, ZZ has a pretty strong Marseille accent, also he is a very soft talker.

Towards the end, Domenech and the TV guy marvel at Ribéry's simplicity and how he is able to bring freshness, humor and natural to people around him - and I agree that they really seem to like him a lot, all of them (Toni, Podolski, etc). I'm sure that contributes to making a good group in the NT, as Inara says, where there isn't much conflict. I think he has that talent of making big stars go back to being street kids.

doumé, I was joking. Kind of. Well, not about the jeans part. Or the queasy part. But I did watch the video. :-) Excellent and interesting. It's always fun to get a glimpse of their lives off-field.

I have a hard time understanding Franck. Is it an accent, or does he just mumble. (I could never understand a word Zidane said either, at least not on first viewing, but I always assumed it was the Marseille accent.)

You know, when Domenech was a player back in the day, his nickname was "leg breaker." He was a known as a tough tackling defender, and when he played for Lyon, during derbies, he used to warm up near where the St. Etienne fans were sitting, so that he could be motivated by their hatred. Nowadays he's dressed in fancy suits with perfectly coiffed curly hair, but inside his heart is still beating like a wild footballer.

What a lot of people don't realize about Domenech is that his favorite hobby besides astrology is acting, and I wish fans of opposition teams would take his remarks with the appropriate distance. He loves messing with our nerves and gets a kick out of seeing people fall for his tricks over and over again. Despite the derision he gets from the media, disharmony within the EDF is at an all time low (except for the people who aren't on the team), and much of that can be attributed to the fact that Domenech takes all the headlines for himself, which protects his players. And don't think the players themselves don't get a laugh out of what he says as well.

Believe it or not, the player he most resembles is Gattuso!

So I'm with you Laurie. Domenech is kind of attractive in a weird, you can't help yourself but you wish you didn't sort of way.

Laurie,
Whaaa-ha-ha!
You'll have to get over it! I promise it's worth it! :)

And, what the heck, why not check the Zidane piece next to it, it's quite well done, just very nice. Look at the moment he leaves the pitch in his last game and the kids scream "Papa" from the stands in the middle of thousands of fans.
