Barthez Not Ready to Retire Yet
In spite of getting attacked by irate drunken fans last weekend after Nantes played Rennes, former France goalkeeper Fabien Barthez says he’s still not ready to retire.
“I don’t think that my career is over,” Barthez told France Info. “I wish to play two or three more seasons. I want to pay football back for what it gave me. But playing for the sake of it doesn’t interest me, it would be useless. I want to be part of a real and ambitious project.”
Funny, I would have thought that attempting to drag Nantes out of the cellar would have been a “real and ambitious project.” But apparently not. (One newspaper report described his actions this week as “leaving a sinking ship.”)
So what do you think Fabien’s chances are of finding another club willing to take the risk?
Perhaps he has retired after all..
Rach, you can post links either place — I’ll get them regardless.
This article is legit. I’d read about it but hadn’t read it yet, so thanks. (The male bloggers are all focusing on the “if you had to choose between scoring and sex” question.):-)

I laughed at Henry’s answer to that question. *sigh* I do miss that man on the pitch!

Sandra, if I were male and married to his wife, I’d choose death too.

Hey Laurie
Just wanted to post this interview with Thierry Henry. I know it’s from The Sun but he has a column with them so I’m pretty sure this interview is legit.
