Congratulations to Captain Patrick Vieira on His 100th Cap

Vieira
Yes, this is close to two weeks late. I kept intending to post it, but then I would get distracted by unsubstantiated transfer rumors and sweet-yet-somehow-troubling pictures of Thierry Henry.

But I do want to take the opportunity to congratulate Bleus captain Patrick Vieira for receiving his 100th cap in the France-Greece game on 11/15. He’s only the fifth player in the history of Les Bleus to reach this milestone, following in the footsteps of Lilian Thuram (126), Marcel Desailly (116), Zinedine Zidane (108) and Didier Deschamps (103).

Congratulations, Patrick. Let’s hope for many more to come!

merci Vieira!
one of the greatest footballers of our day. Great to see him captaining France, I hear he’s even hinting of trying to stick around for South Africa 2010… we can only hope.
