Dhorasoo Teaches Us How To Be Really, Really Popular

January 12th, 2007 | By: Laurie | No Comments »

I think there are two ways to be incredibly popular during the transfer period:

Strategy One: Be insanely talented. And preferably young, with a lot of good years ahead of you. (See: Franck Ribéry.)
-OR-
Strategy Two: Piss off the management of your team so badly that they fire you. Getting fired means that you are a free agent. Being a free agent means that there is no transfer fee. And no transfer fee means… Instant Popularity!

Vikash Dhorasoo has followed Strategy Two to the letter and it is paying off handsomely. I have never seen our Vikash’s name popping up in so many places! As Bob pointed out yesterday, we can add Fulham to the long list of Vikash’s suitors, and this one is looking serious. I’m expecting them to proffer a ring contract any day now.

Let’s see. World Cup substitute. Documentary filmmaker. Celebrity poker player. And now, Belle of the Ball. Way to go for the gusto, Vikash!

(Was that snarky? I was going for sincere. Honestly I was.)

Here’s a little video to remind us that yes, the man has actually played the game. (It was hard to find, though. Most of the current stuff out there right now is documentary parodies.) Oh, and check out that bald goalkeeper who can’t quite get to the ball in time. Who might that be?
