Look! It’s Philippe Mexes in the New and Improved Beefcake Version

I stumbled on this photo of AS Roma centerback Philippe Mexès today. Made me laugh. (Okay, first it made me feel really, really old. Then it made me laugh.)

The interesting thing about writing about Philippe is that there are many, many sites dedicated to this Truly Pretty Teen Heartthrob, and they ALL contain photos like this! (Here’s the link for this one.) If Roma hadn’t just handed Inter their first loss in millennia, I would be wondering if the man was actually able to find time to play soccer, what with all the photo shoots. (And I have to hand it to the Italians. Nobody does photo shoots like the Italians. Perhaps more of our French guys should play there.)

And in spite of all this beefcake, (and in spite of the shellacking Roma got at the hands of ManU) the guy is still kind of growing on me. Even moreso when he apologized to fans recently for that ManU shellacking.

“We can only apologise to our supporters, despite the bad result in Manchester please continue following us”, the French player underlined.
