Look! It’s Trézéguet , Smiling!

May 21st, 2007 | By: Laurie | 1 Comment »

David Trézéguet hasn’t had a whole lot to smile about in the past year, but this weekend was an exception. (Click on the photo for a larger version.) He scored one of the five goals that clinched a win for Juventus and guaranteed that they will be promoted back to Serie A again after being demoted last year in the match-fixing scandal. Go, David! And since France NT coach Raymond Domenech stated that David’s play in Serie B was the reason he’s not being called up to Les Bleus, this is definitely something for David to celebrate.

(Now let’s see if this promotion is enough to get David back on the team. What do you think? Me, I’m thinking we have a whole bunch of new, young talent coming up and Trézéguet turns thirty this year. But what do I know?)

Dear David,

We had many wonderful years together, and our relationship was great because you knew how to score just the way I liked. But while you were away in Serie B, I had an affair with Karim Benzema, a younger man who doesn’t have any emotional baggage (yet). We’ve hit it off, and I’m sorry to say that I can’t remain faithful to you.

But just because I can’t commit doesn’t mean that I’m writing us off forever. Now that you’re back in Serie A, maybe we can get to know each other again. So no hard feelings, ‘kay?

Hugs and kisses,

French National Team
