I was surprised by Trez staying at Juve, I thought he really would go. I’m still mourning Henry and the site of him in that Barca shirt REALLY HURT!!! A LOT! And I like Barca. But it just looked so WRONG!

Not all gooners hate Anelka, Laurie — lots of us know he’s changed and would welcome him back to the squad. (And it’s not only some fans who are against the idea, it’s the board Wenger has to convince: they have even longer memories).

Of course it would be hilarious irony — Anelka left to make room for Henry, now Henry goes to make room for Anelka. I sincerely hope Wenger finds a way to get both Anelka and Malouda. Only problem with Anelka is his age, Wenger is of course known for buying only youth. But it’s possible Wenger may make an exception. It’s well known he’s never gotten over being forced to let go of Anelka, it wasn’t his choice.

As a gooner right now dealing with all this tumult, I can only think of that famous Chinese curse: “may you live in interesting times.”

Interesting. That seems low. I’ve read both 4 million and 4.5. Now I’m curious and will need to look into this further.

Hey Laurie,
I’m pretty sure Trezeguet’s old contract was €4.5 million until 2008. The new one is €3.5 million until 2011. This is according to trezeguet-david.com: “Le précédent contrat avait pour échéance 2008 et un salaire de 4,5M d’euros. La Juve ne pouvait pas se permettre de laisser partir David à coût zéro. Le nouvel accord est sur 4 ans pour un salaire de 3,5M d’euros.”

Welcome back from the Spanish page. I presume you support Le Gunners, judging by your shock at Henry’s departure. They are my favourite club team as well.

As for your bunch of ageing whingers knocking us out last World Cup, don’t worry- we’ll gladly return the favour this upcoming Euro 08 Championships… if France qualify of course.
