Newsflash! Higuain Is Argentinian! (The Twit)
An update on nineteen-year-old French-born Gonzalo Higuain: Despite his claims that “I think myself French,” and Domenech’s attempts to make him French, and his dad’s apparent desire that he be French, Gonzalo has apparently decided that he is, in fact Argentinian. He’s turning his back on Les Bleus and going through the process of asking for Argentinian citizenship for the sole purpose of making himself eligible to play for Argentina.
I guess those first three months of your life in France didn’t quite take, eh Gonzalo?
France coach Raymond Domenech is apparently not convinced and wants to go visit Gonzalo in Madrid and talk some sense into him. Me, though? I’ve given up. So no more about you here, Mr. Higuain.
Except for this:
Pfffblllttt! Who needs ya anyway, you little twerp?
(And by the way, Gonzalo didn’t get called up for Argentina for the friendly, but his young Real Madrid teammate and countryman Gago did. And I am SO not gloating over this fact.)
Okay, I’m ready to be a grownup again now.
