Transfer Rumors: Anelka to Juve? Or Tottenham? Or Newcastle?

How adorable is this picture of a young Nicolas Anelka? Even if he doesn’t look incredibly happy. I think this was his second sojourn with PSG, back in 2000. Which would make him, what, 21 here? So adorable. I want to go back and adopt him and maybe keep him from the rest of those gazillion transfers.

But it’s a bit too late for that, and we’re again talking about transfer rumors and my favorite no-longer-so-bad boy, Nicolas. Awhile back, Nico told Bolton that he’d stay if they could claim a spot in International play next year. For a little while it looked good, but the loss to Arsenal this weekend dropped Bolton to sixth place. UEFA Cup is still a possibility, but our Nico is starting to eye the door.

Most recent rumor? Anelka to Juventus. Which would be great for Juventus, because Nico is currently finding the back of the net on a regular basis. I’m not sure how it would be for Anelka. But on the other hand, he’s also been linked to Newcastle and Tottenham, and I’m not sure how either of those would be better than Bolton. From ClubCall:

Juventus were linked with a £10million switch over the weekend and now according to reports, Tottenham and Newcastle have been impressed with the way he has adapted to life back in the Premiership.
Allardyce is under no pressure to sell though and is in a position to rebuff any offers, while Anelka will be happy to stay if Bolton are in the Uefa Cup next season.

I think I’d personally like to see how Anelka could do if he’d settle down someplace. Wouldn’t that be a novel idea?
