NOTE TO EVERYONE: Zidane is the greatest and noone needs to worry. Before he retired after the beautiful headbutt and winning the FIFA Golden Ball Award for the best performance, he left the rookie to fill his shoes. Like Zidane, Frank (Billal) Ribbery is fast,tricky, elegant, smart and a great leader. Hopefully he can help the french team to continue their years of glory. Zidane was rated the third best of all time, after Pele and Maradona, in 2006. He was a treasure for both Madrid and France. Zizou est le meiller. Ach, of course you’re right!!! I forgot to check the location of the article!! This is the problem with writing two different blogs in locations that do their calendars differently. When this was the only blog I wrote, I would never have made this mistake. (But I’m still always glad when we hit the 13th day of the month, because then I can stop thinking.)

In my defense, though, I am still getting stuff from World Cup in my mailbox at least twice a month.

I think you’re right up to a point, Inara — but remember that France played brilliantly against Italy last September, scoring 3 goals, all without zizou. I think France will manage to find their groove without zizou ultimately.
