Zidane Takes On The World (In a Great Hat)
So. Zidane’s in Thailand. Where “he will train 40 players chosen from eight schools in the province and donate 1,000 footballs to provincial authorities.” He will also “play a charity match with leading players and film stars from Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia at the Chiang Mai municipal stadium. ”
And he’s getting ready for that Futsal game to raise money for players facing tough times.
And then he’ll be getting ready to play in “the fourth annual “Match Against Poverty” on Mar. 19 at Stade du Velodrome in Marseille, France as part of the United Nations Development Program.”
“Through the Match Against Poverty, millions of fans witness their heroes in soccer become heroes in the fight against extreme poverty,” said Ad Melkert, an Associate Administrator of the United Nations Development Program. “This message is so important because only in partnership with governments, the private sector, civil society, and individuals like Ronaldo and Zidane will we be able to truly overcome poverty and achieve the Millenium Development Goals.”
Oh, and he’s also negotiating (or not negotiating) a $15-20 million annual contract in MSL.
Peachy! Wonderful! Great!!
But what is it you’re really thinking? Don’t tell me, because I know.
How can he manage to look so damn good in that ridiculous hat?

My question is less how he looks so good in the hat (it’s the genes, man), but what on EARTH possessed him to buy it. Imagine if he’d had that thing on while he was at Fashion Week in NYC — Adidas would have fired him on the spot!

zizou could be wearing a potato sack straight out of bed, he’d still look gorgeous — a zillion times better than Beckham or C. Ronaldo or any other pretty little boy. He’s got Veronique and the kids with him on this trip (didn’t seem like they went with him to Bangladesh or Algeria). More photos of zidane and family in Thailand here:

I’ve heard this quote applied to other people, but I think Zizou illustrates it the best:
“He would look good with a poo-filled diaper on his head.”

I still think the hat is to girly for a hunk like him.
